The Lummi Nation and Silver Reef Casino Resort and Lummi Commercial Company, and Loomis Trail Golf are dedicated to making a positive and rewarding difference in the lives of the Lummi Community, Whatcom County community, and its surrounding areas. Our goal is to provide contributions to Tribal Member Youth and Senior Citizens in Health, Education, Community Development, and the environment.

In the context of this policy, sponsorships are made with the expectation of receiving something in return, such as participation/networking, increased brand visibility, advertising, or access to a specific audience. Donations are made in support of a specific cause or organization when businesses would like to give back to the community or demonstrate social responsibility. No sponsorship or donation should be expected or implied for any reason, as the businesses have limited resources. There are other avenues to request donations/funding through the Lummi Nation for qualified organizations to be considered for charitable contributions, which the Silver Reef Casino Resort provides funding for; for this reason, this policy is set forth.

Guidelines

The budgeted resources are extremely limited, so it is wise to ensure a wide range of support to impact the greatest number of people. The following guidelines help us focus on our contributions.

• All requests must be submitted 30 days prior to the event or deadline date.
• In-Kind Donations/Sponsorship Request form shall be filled out in its entirety and submitted to the Donations Committee 30 days prior to the event.
• SRCR and LCC do not make cash donations; the committee may consider donating an item and/or Silver Reef Casino Resort and Lummi Commercial Company (SRCR & LCC) complimentary service to be used towards a fundraising raffle for an event, which may include team sporting events and/or activities.
• Past fulfillment of a donation request does not obligate Silver Reef Casino Resort and Lummi Commercial Company to future donation requests from the same organization. It is at the discretion of the Silver Reef Casino Resort and Lummi Commercial Company (SRCR & LCC) Management to reevaluate a donation request, which Silver Reef Casino Resort and Lummi Commercial Company (SRCR & LCC) has contributed to in the past.
• All donation requests, whether approved or denied, will receive a form letter.
• Requests must primarily be for events/programs that support the Lummi Nation, Whatcom County, and the surrounding areas in which we operate and serve.
• The committee will meet once a month to review & make a formal decision on all requests in a timely manner.
• The committee shall consist of the CEO or designee, General Manager or designee, Executive Administrative Assistant, Finance Director, Marketing representative, 2 Operations Directors.
• The Executive Administrative Assistant will be responsible for receiving all donation requests, maintaining all requests, sending approval or denial letters & bringing all requests to the committee each month.

Sponsorship

It is vital that all Sponsorships must enhance Silver Reef Casino Resort and Lummi Commercial Company’s images as high-quality gaming and commercial establishments. Silver Reef Casino Resort, Loomis Trail Golf, and Lummi Commercial Company may stipulate conditions and/or advertising that will give the most return on their investment.

The following conditions must be agreed to and followed while representing Silver Reef Casino Resort and Lummi Commercial Company:

• Individuals and teams will represent Silver Reef Casino Resort and Lummi Commercial Company (SRCR & LCC) in a courteous, friendly, respectful and hospitable manner during events and/or functions.
• If any individual or team is found negligent of the conditions as listed, sponsorship will be terminated.
• Silver Reef Casino Resort & Loomis Trail Golf does not discount catering for any sponsorship or charitable event.
• Silver Reef Casino Resort extends a 20% discount on the RACK rate for hotel rooms for charitable events.
• Silver Reef Casino Resort may extend a waiver of conference/banquet room rental for charitable events if accompanied by catering and room block rental.
• Loomis Trail Golf, if approved by the committee, may extend a 20% discount on the standard tournament rate for Lummi charitable events only.
• Silver Reef Casino Resort and Lummi Commercial Company (SRCR & LCC) sponsorships are valid for the length of one event/term/function.
• Silver Reef Casino Resort and Lummi Commercial Company (SRCR & LCC) will not sponsor events or individuals in the following areas:
  • Groups that seek to influence elections or legislation.
  • Organizations for sectarian or religious purposes.
  • Institutions that unfairly discriminate against race, ethnic origin, sex, creed, or religion.
